This was a fun line with corny concepts but they work for the line.  There was even a cartoon series as well!

[Glowing Glop front page.
Dr. Sy: Want to be gross? read on!

The main two characters are the Mad Scientist Dr. Sy N. Tist and Brian who well create monsters.

[Brian: Wow! Where'd you get all these monsters?
Dr. Sy: Ha haaa! Brian, my boy, I made them!
Brian: This is great, Dr. sy! What're you gonna do with them?
Dr. Sy: Do?]

Well, gross it is not.  Silly it definately is.  There were 12 toys in the series.  Three packs of three, two medium sets and a large one.

[Slugore Monster Kit.
1. To create Slugore, smash monster flesh into his mold...
2. ... and seal it shut!
3. Pop it open! Then pop out... Slugore!
4. If Slugore gets too wild, squash and mold him again!
5. Monster flesh sticks to hard flat surfaces!]

Monster flesh sets had a tub of monster flesh - either red, blue or green and a mold.  The flesh was some sort of moist plasticene.  There were three monsters with monster flesh - Ogore (blue), Slugore (green) and Eye-gore.

[I-Stomp Monster Kit.
1. To create I-Stomp, smash living ice into his mold...
2. ... and seal it shut!
3. Pop it open! Then pop out... I-Stomp!
4. If Slugore gets too crazy, rip him up and mold him again!
5. Roll living ice into a ball and it'll bounce!]

Then of course there was living ice.  The only difference between this and monster flesh was the mold shapes, and the material.  Living ice is rubbery substance that can be frozen to become  really hard rubber.  There were three monsters here as well, each one with a different colour: I-stomp (clear), I-smash (blue) and I-chomp (red).

[Alien Blood Monster Kits!
Squeeze 'em! Alien Blood oozes from their eyes, mouth or nose!
Sammy Sneeze
Billy Belcher
Oscar-I-Rot]

Well, with monster flesh, there has to be glow in the dark alien blood and there were also three monster alien blood kits - Sammy Sneeze, Billy Belcher and Oscar-I-Rot.  The Hey, You Slimeball musing details these to some detail.

[Dissect-An-Alien Playset.
Yank out Alien Organs dripping in Glowing Alien Blood! 12 Alien Parts - Only 1 way they'll fit!]

The Hey, You Slimeball musing also describe one of the medium sets, a Dissect-An-Alien set that contains Alien blood.  This one had a plastic shell of an alien with alien organs and a tub of glow in the dark alien blood.

The other medium kit also had glow in the dark stuff, but it wasn't alien blood.  It's called Glowing Glop and  it's less spooky... here, let me show you...

[Brian: Wow, This is gross!
Dr. Sy: Ha Haaaaa! But it's not finished! I still have to add ... this!
Brian: Pssst! Dr. Sy. Don't you think it would be better if we had some light?
Dr. Sy: Light, my boy? Ha haaa! I'll give you light! Look!]

[Brian: But wh- wh- What is it?!
Dr. Sy: That, my boy, is powdered light, mixed into the glop we just made. I call it... glowing glop!
Brian: This is great stuff. Look, Dr. Sy! I'm glowing! Wow!... I can't wait 'til the guys see this!
Dr. Sy: Ha Haaa! Of course you're glowing! But let me show you what we can do with the glowing glop before your friends arrive.]

[Imagine grossing out the gnarliest, most disgusting creature you can dream of...
Just slap the glop blisters on the back of your arms and hands and... be gross!
If he's too grossed out to move -- just pop 'n' ooooze those glop blisters all over him!]

The largest kit though is a rather boring one.  It's called the monster lab.  There are two skeletons that can be clothed with monster flesh and if you mix in the secret formula (a carbonate) you can dissolve it in a vat of citric acid.  The only almost interesting thing from this kit was a poster with a game.

[Dr Sy: Just think of it!
Whenever a monster goes berzerk -- Plop, plop, fizz fizz -- it's gone!]

When you run out of monster flesh for the Monster Lab, well, there is always the smaller kits to buy as suggested by this text.

[Use Living Ice Monster Kits as refills for...
Monster Lab Set. Make gross skeleton & flesh monsters... then sizzle the flesh off their bones!
...And as refills for: Glowing Glop Kit. Turn water into glop instantly! Make & pop oozing glop blisters!
Gross out your friends!]

Rather useful information 10 years in the future.  Well, there you have it.  The Mad Scientist toy line.

Somehow though, the above toys must be successful because there was a second series of toys or kits.

The Eyeball Maker kit continued to build up on the Living Ice success while Splatters, took the concept of grossness further:

There were also a dress-up play sets for Mad Scientist and the bendable figure sets.  They were made by Arco, not Mattel.
