By what creeps, what crawls what slithers... Sectaurs is a toyline about bugs and insect warriors. Set on the planet Symbion, each warrior had an insect companion. Like most toys of the time, it had a cartoon series.
The usual story is there - good guy sectaurs, on the sunny side of the planet, or the Shining Realm, fighting against the bad guys sectaurs who lived on the dark side of the planet, or the Dark Domain. Bad guys tries to dominate the world, good guys tries to stop them. Nothing new in the storyline there.
The creepy crawlies are gruesome and some of them even had fake fur. The figures are well sculpted and highly detailed and each companion insect had a special feature.
The drawings and art on the boxes were amazing and given the same level of detail and care as the toys. Overall the box is enhanced by the box art.
The back of the box for the figures shows the features of the figures and is similar to Skito and Toxcid's above. On the bigger boxes, these are shown as insets along the side of the box.
Of course, the special Marvel minicomic that was found with each figure was a bonus. These comics weren't full sized comics, yet they bore some of the best art that Marvel had to offer. It's a pity that the colouring was of the same pixelated moiré pattern that were common to the comics of the period.
A special touch on the premiums is that each premium had a picture of the toy that it came with. These premiums presumable can be used in conjunction with a Sectaurs Club membership for special offers.
