Robocop started life out in the mid eighties as a cop movie, but this spawned a couple of sequels. The release of the third movie though was a huge exercise in marketing for Robocop and action figures as well as a cartoon series of the concept was made. The cartoon series later generated more figures.

There were three sizes of movie figures, all of the electronic with a button that activated a voice chip in the figure. The toys were rather accurate to the movie and seems rather lifelike - if one could consider Robocop being lifelike.
There seems to be two waves of figures based on The Series. Stan Parks was typical of this wave, which included two other cops and one villian.
The second series seems to be called Special Forces. These included figures with better weapons and other accessories.
Kenner also seemed to have gotten into the act before Toy Island had the toys. A catalogue in the mid eighties featured six figures and two vehicles as pictured below.
There seems to be at least three series of the Kenner Robocop toys. These packed in most of the gimmicks that Kenner were good at - vacmetal paint, firing missiles, and caps.

The line seems to have a lot of vehicles as well, as the card back below shows.

Not much other information is known about the toys. It seems to be important enough to generate web pages at some point, although those have since fallen into disrepair. More information can be found in the Robocop Central site.
