Captain Power and the Soldiers of the future was one of the first series of toys that tried to have interaction between toys and the television.  The concept failed, but the toys live on.

It is the future and the world is ruled by machines lead by a cyborg named Lord Dread.  Mankind tries to free the world from machine domination and the rebels are lead by Captain Power and his soldiers of the future.  The show as dark and messy and confusing, but the toys were well designed and colourful and interesting.
