Flyboy!

[Ace Box Art]

The suave sandy-haired smiling guy with the bright blue eyes and the brazen, yet charming personality seems to smooze and cruise through every situation that life and Doc Terror throws at him, but underneath all that, is there the soul of a troubled child?

Well, I can't answer that question, but I can tell you about his assault weapons systems! These were some of the most attractive assault weapons systems, colour wise, with the red and blue and silvery-white colour scheme.

[Sky Knight in action]

The Ace McCloud action figure came with Sky Knight, an 11 piece assault weapon system, which by comparison is 4 more than Max's Cruiser and Jake's Fireforce. The drawback is that unlike Cruiser and Fireforce, Sky Knight does not have a spring powered missile launcher. The one thing about Sky Knight though is that the wings move back and forth when the peg in the backpack is rotated. Well, the three missiles and two guns gives Sky Knight a larger artillery than Cruiser (one missile, one gun) or Fireforce (one missile, one howitzer, one gun). Sky Knight is the probably the most used of Ace's assault weapons system due to its manoueveribility and it's artillery.

[Skybolt Box Art]

Ace super huge assault weapon system is the Skybolt. This should not be confused with Sky Vault, the huge floating space station where Crystal operates. Skybolt is a huge plane-like contraption, with lots of guns and missiles. It is powered by a huge jet engine. This assault weapon system is probably one with the largest range (flying wise) and the largest arsenal of weapons on any of ace's assault weapons system.

[Orbital Interceptor Box Art]

The intermediate assault weapon system isn't exactly an air vehicle. Oribital Interceptor, as its name implies, is a space going assault weapons system. It has a reflective-gold (although it's just gold in the toys) helmet with a shuttle like backpack and other ancillary equipment like thruster engines. The nose of the backpack can be fired as a missile when the peg at the centre of the backpack is rotated.

[Strato Strike]

The second series of toys gave him two more assault weapons systems. Strato Strike is a turbo-prop fan powered assault weapons system capable of VTOL.  Nothing new here, except that there are two pieces on his feet which looks like leftovers.

[Aero-sault Side View]   [Ace with Aero-Sault]   [Aero-Sault Parts]

The main feature of the other series two assault weapons system, Aero-sault, are the two huge solar panel "wings".  This tiny set also includes a bomb and what looks like white rip-offs from Orbital Interceptor.

So, back to the question of whether Ace's ego is a reflection of his maturity? I don't know, but feel free to drop me an email to let me know what you think!
