More than meets the eye maybe the catchy phrase of the Transformers of bygone years - it's also the title of today's musing - Check it out under the section.

If you thought the 1990 catalogue that I updated yesterday was ancient, have a look at [Bone Age] in the KALEIDOSCOPE section which is very pre-historic.

Europe at the beginning of the 90s was a very tumultuous place.  Communism was falling and the Berlin wall was coming down.  The sea of change affected not just countries, but the  [Legoland] catalogue for those countries.  Check out the 1990 Western European Catalogue and be amazed by the subtle changes taking place.

What happens next in the duchy of Nostalgia?  I know fans have been waiting for this after a long delay.  Find out from the Duke of Nostalgia's perspective in

The KALEIDOSCOPE section has a new page opened for public viewing. Check out the [Inhumanoids] page.

Yet another American  [Legoland] catalogue joins the burgeoning collection of catalogues on this site.  1989 was the year of the Pirates, but in the USA, it also marks something else in Lego history.  Check it out.

I'm more than half way past the review for the 2002 He-Man figures that I have with me.  Check out this review of the new 2002 Trap Jaw musing in the [Masters of the Universe] section and see if we have crowned a new Nostalgia Value champion.  This review is dedicated to chilli-chewing jaw, nutnog who is really a nice guy to laugh with... or is that laugh at?  Cory, thanks for sticking by me and I wish you all the best in your upcoming wedding.

11th June 2003
A quick update to the KALEIDOSCOPE section to include some more mostly early 90s toy lines that will be coming soon, including the image for Mighty Max, which as you'll have noticed, have also been included in the animated logo on the front page.  Added one image to the [Police Academy] page.

10th June 2003
Another [Legoland] catalogues joins the "cast" of catalogue scans available here on the site.  Check out the 1988 United States catalogue to see what's up there.  Also, I'm missing two pages from that catalogue.  If anyone is kind enough to email me those scans, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks.

Look up in the air!  Is it a bird?  Is it a monkey?  No it's Stratos.  Check out this review of the new 2002 Stratos musing in the [Masters of the Universe] section and see if it can knock Tri-Klops off the Nostalgia Value crown.  This review is dedicated to Stratos828 who really should go find a pair of feathery loincloth!

8th June 2003
Mad Scientist aren't the only toy line with creepy crawlies.  Check out the [Sectaurs] page of the KALEIDOSCOPE section.

7th June 2003
Remember the huge big list of [Legoland] catalogues I updated 3 days ago?  Well, I added the 1983 international catalogue to it.  Long story short?  I scored a 6950 X15 Satellite Launcher MIB at a really old toystore that nobody goes to anymore - they didn't have much toys left except for model cars.  I already have a 6950, but I noticed the catalogue that I didn't have and well, you know the story.  They also had a couple of boxes of Construx.  Maybe I'll go clean that shop out of good toys sometime soon.

Yesterday, we had our first submission to the site.  Today, we have the second! As far as I know this site was the first to bring you pictures of everyone's favourite [Mad Scientist]  I was told that there were some toys that were gonna be and was not released, but could never find pictures until now.  Give Doctor Kent (now that's another Mad Scientist) kudos for these scans.  His scary toys page can be found in the acknowledgement page.

Wow, the first time this year that someone actually sent me pictures to put up on my site.  Check out the box art for the Fright Fighters in the [Masters of the Universe] Cardback and boxart section.  Thanks go to pH6 who sent me the scans - you can see his other stuff via the link in the acknowledgement page.

Another new month is here and things seems rather slow.  Nothing much done today except that I've updated the huge big list of [Legoland] catalogues for the new stuff I got recently, but have yet to get around to scan.  These will be up as soon as I can scan them.

International (i.e. those non-US/Canada) [Masters of the Universe] fans might be interested to know that a new Yahoo group has been set up for you to air your personal disappointment at not being able to get the toys/comic/toons and to be a support group from each other.  Check out MotU : International Rescue.

I recently got an email requesting that I put up "Air Vectors" on my site.  This is being worked on at the moment - yes I have some information, however it would take time to compile that data, scan the images and sort out the webpage.  They will be ready when they are ready.  Is there something that you'd like to see here on this site?  Feel free to email me at mysticalnovelty@yahoo.com.  I'll try my best to satisfy your request.

If you came in through the front page you would have seen what's new there.  Well, a slight update to the "look" which I suppose is a bit overdue :)

So, today marks the 1st year that this site has been on line.  When it was first started a year ago, this site had humble beginnings and few goals as can be seen on the first ever page. These days, the front page alone gets about 100 hits a week.  Not too sloppy for a site that focuses on toys that aren't old enough to be antique, nor new enough to be "hot".  From Australia to Austria to Argentina visitors have been around.  Hits have recorded visitors from such unlikely places as Japan, Poland and Yugoslavia, much to my amazement.

I find it hard to dream up or predict what next year might bring.  The usual stuff will still be there - more Lego catalogues, more Kaleidoscope updates, more classic He-Man box scans and more journal entries.  I'd like to thank everyone who've made this site a success - their names are listed on the acknowledgements page.

As usual if you have anything to say - good or bad - feel free to email me at mysticalnovelty@yahoo.com.

Here's hoping to another good year for this site.

15th May 2003
Added five logos [Beetlejuice] [COPS and Crooks] [Computer Wariors] [Hook - Peter Pan] [Robotech] in the KALEIDOSCOPE section with the corresponding changes made to the image on the front page.

Do you like what you see?  Have any comments or suggestions for me?  Then feel free to email me at mysticalnovelty@yahoo.com.
